Gently helping clients feel like themselves again.
At Hands of Solace, we understand the complexity of the human experience, particularly when faced with challenges such as cancer treatment, surgery, or chronic illness. As a certified massage therapist, Charlotte Phillips, brings her personal experiences as a cancer survivor and her extensive education in manual lymph drainage, myofascial release, and scar tissue work to provide a unique and compassionate approach to massage therapy. Our philosophy is centered around providing a safe, gentle, and thoughtful therapeutic environment that honors the entire body, mind, and spirit.
Our Services
As a skilled practitioner, Charlotte offers a range of services designed to promote relaxation, reduce pain and swelling, and foster healing. Here are some of the treatments we offer:
Oncology Massage
Oncology Massage, also known as Massage During and After Cancer Treatment, is a specialized technique that provides gentle, thoughtful massage for individuals undergoing cancer treatment or those with a history of cancer. Adapting to individual needs, Charlotte ensures comfort and safety during the treatment or recovery process. Goals include increasing relaxation, decreasing anxiety and pain, and promoting overall well-being.
Myofascial Release (MFR)
Myofascial Release (MFR) is a non-invasive, slow, and gentle technique that targets the connective tissue underlying the skin, surrounding muscles, and organs. This unique approach aims to reduce pain, improve posture, and reduce scar tissue. By releasing tension in the fascia, MFR encourages optimal joint mobility, reduces inflammation, and promotes relaxation.
Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD)
Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a light, rhythmic technique used to stimulate the lymphatic system, reducing swelling, edema, and fluid accumulation. Charlotte's extensive training allows her to expertly apply this technique to address lymphedema, hip replacements, osteoarthritis, recovery from knee or other surgeries, headaches, fatigue, and fibromyalgia. By soothing the "flight or fight" side of the nervous system, MLD supports the immune system, reduces pain, and promotes relaxation.
At Hands of Solace, we prioritize compassion, understanding, and personalized attention to each client's unique needs. Our commitment is to provide a safe, gentle, and thoughtful therapeutic environment that honors the entire body, mind, and spirit. By blending science, clinical reasoning, and intuition with a deep connection with our clients, we empower individuals to reconnect with their bodies, find relief from pain and stress, and rediscover their inner peace.
